STEP Offshore's surge tank feeder is designed for high accuracy feeding of powder chemicals from surge tank to mud mixer. The various feed rates are set by controlling the rpm of the feeder from a local potentiometer or via the mud control system. The S-shaped activator on the surge tank feeder prevents build-up of material inside surge tank, thus eliminating the need of a sledgehammer to empty the tank. The surge tank feeder outlet is equipped with a butterfly valve for sealing off the outlet. The unit provides a dust free working environment and is designed to meet all relevant offshore requirements regarding health, safety and environment.
